Whether you are an experienced rescuer or a first-time responder, the Powerheart® G5 automated external defibrillator provides a powerful combination of features that help rescuers provide sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) victims with swift, effective, and life-saving therapy. The Powerheart® G5 is the first FDA-approved AED to combine fully automatic shock delivery, dual-language functionality, variable escalating energy, and fast shock times to help save an SCA victim‘s life.
When it comes to helping a victim of sudden cardiac arrest, not all AEDs are created equal. Unlike other AEDs, ZOLL® AEDs support rescuers with integrated, real-time feedback on compression rate and depth. Recommended by medical professionals, the ZOLL AED Plus® defibrillator with Real CPR Help® technology guides rescuers in performing high-quality CPR and provides integrated audio and visual feedback to support you throughout the rescue.
Lives are not saved by AEDs alone. People save lives — using AEDs. Real CPR Help guides you in delivering high-quality CPR. Integrated, real-time feedback provides visual and audio prompts to "Push Harder" or confirms when you are doing "Good Compressions," keeping you on track to administer potentially life-saving CPR.
In addition to step-by-step audio prompts, Real CPR Help technology includes a compression depth indicator that provides real-time visual guidance to help you deliver the best possible CPR.
The ZOLL AED 3® defibrillator features real-time CPR feedback, full-color rescue images, a touchscreen display, and an integrated child mode, making it simple to treat both adult and pediatric victims of SCA. Designed with readiness in mind, ZOLL AED 3 includes long-life consumables and WiFi connectivity for remote monitoring of the AED's status.
It's 3:03 a.m. Is your AED awake? If you have a ZOLL/Cardiac Science Powerheart® AED it is. It will be hard at work performing a sophisticated series of patented tests throughout the device's circuitry to verify that its medical-grade battery, patented non-polarized pads, and critical components are not only connected but fully functional for the upcoming day. This is important because sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) doesn't occur once a week or just on a Sunday.
To ensure you are Rescue Ready®, Powerheart AEDs automatically perform self-test every day while self testing electrodes and its medical grade battery for presence, function and expiration .4 We've spent decades perfecting our proprietary technology to ensure readiness like no other AED. Other AEDs only self-test once a week or only partially each day—because less testing allows them to claim increased battery and pad life, enabling a "cost-of-ownership" claim.
Readiness is everything. We believe comprehensive daily self-testing of our AEDs can help prevent deaths from SCA. Studies have shown that 23.7% of AED failures5 are due to pads and connectors, and battery power problems account for 23.2%. These are the very issues that Powerheart AED daily self-tests detect and help prevent.
ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, today confirmed that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Cardiac Science® Corporation, a leading provider of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), related services, and accessories.
"We are excited about the alignment of our two companies and our combined ability to place lifesaving technology into the hands of more lay rescuers and first responders during medical emergencies," said Elijah A. White, President of ZOLL Resuscitation. "This acquisition fits well into ZOLL's vision of providing integrated, innovative acute and resuscitation care for all."
"Cardiac Science and ZOLL both provide proven AED solutions to broad segments of the public safety market," he explained. "With Cardiac Science now part of ZOLL, we'll be able to offer our customers more choices and a stronger AED program management infrastructure to ensure that both families of AEDs are ready when needed."
Cardiac Science will become part of ZOLL's Resuscitation division, headquartered in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, but will continue manufacturing in the Deerfield, Wisconsin facility. ZOLL will continue to promote, market, and supply the Powerheart® line of AEDs and Rescue Ready® services as well as ZOLL AEDs and PlusTrac™ program management.
